Walk For Me – Walk at Bold Park for Youth Mental Health @ Reabold Hill Carpark

Hey everyone!

Would you like to go on a beautiful walk through the trails of Bold Park, and raise funds for youth mental health while doing so?

Youth Focus is a non-profit organisation that provides free counselling for 12-25 year olds in WA, and they are always in need of more funds to continue their amazing work. This mental health week (9th – 16th of October) they are running a campaign called Walk For Me, where people can sign up to walk 12, 24 or 49km over that week. To raise funds, it is encouraged to share the fundraising page link to social media and with any friends or family. There has been a page created for our Rotaract group:

It would be awesome if anyone who is interested could come along and as a team we can all raise funds for youth mental health

We can also all get a bite to eat and some hydration afterwards to celebrate!

Sick of zoom tutorials? Turning up your music to fix funny (scary?!) car sounds? Needing a brake and wanting to fuel your curiosity surrounding cars?

Join the Rotaract Club of Perth and Rotary Northbridge for a welcoming and informative afternoon to learn the ins and outs of your car

This short course will cover:

Changing tyres and checking pressure

Checking oil and engine coolant levels

Understanding warning lights

Jumpstarting

Tools to have in case of an emergency

Changing lights
…and much more!

The free afternoon is tailored to beginners with little to no knowledge as well as people who have some experience with cars. As this is the first time we are running this event, it is Rotaract Club of Perth members only and will be open to the general public and other Rotaract Club members after our opening session!

Sandwich making for Perth Homeless Support Group

The Rotaract Club of Perth is back with the successful sandwich packing event again.

We’re making sandwiches that will be donated to our friends at the Perth Homeless Support Group. Each Sunday, the PHSG team will hand out fresh food, toiletries and support for the homeless people of perth.

In order to make this event successful, we ask that you kindly bring any mix of the following ingredients. The sandwich fillings can be:
– Tuna and mayo
– Egg, Baby spinach and aioli
– Sliced meat, pickles and cheese
– Polony and sauce
– Sausages and sauce

Please make sure the fillings are nutritious, substantial and avoid soggy fillings (lettuce/tomatoes)

Kindly register to the event if you’re sure you can make it. You’re welcome to invite more people, but we request that you inform us via messaging our FB page to be aware of the number of attendees.

Toothbrush Packing and Beach Day! @ Owen Homoeopathics

Guess what? We are back with another fun toothbrush packing session for The Kimberley Dental Team!
The Kimberley Dental Team is a group of dental volunteers that strive to promote dental hygiene and education in remote regions and disadvantaged areas of Perth. Rural Australians have access to fewer dental practitioners than their city counterparts, coupled with longer travel times and limited transport options to services, this affects the oral health care that they can receive. Toothbrushes are an essential tool to reduce tooth decay.
Help us pack toothbrushes for KDT. These toothbrushes will be helping schools in the Kimberley and disadvantaged familes.
Bring snacks to share and a popping playlist! Please only RSVP if you are actually going so we have a good idea of numbers.
Similar to our last tooth brush packing session, lets all hang at the beach after! Location TBD.

Hey Perth Rotaractors! Its been a while! We hope you all had a merry christmas and a happy new year!

For our first social event of the year we are planning on catching up after work for some drinks and a game of bowling. So if you’ve got some time to spare and you want to strike up a conversation with some fellow rotaractors, we would love to see you there!
We also want to encourage everyone to bring one friend. We are always looking for new members and if you’ve got a friend who wants to do something new this year and would make a great rotaractor then bring them along!
