Australian Rotaract Conference @ Brisbane, QLD, Australia
Oct 14 @ 4:00 pm – Oct 16 @ 3:30 pm

Rotary Districts 9600 and 9630 will  co-host the 2016 Australian Rotaract Conference in Brisbane, Queensland.

In an address to the G20 in 2014, US President Barack Obama summed up the Queensland capital as “beautiful one day, perfect the next”. With the gorgeous, mighty Brisbane River flowing through it, Brisbane is a modern, energetic and delightful city – the perfect host for our annual gathering of enthusiastic Rotaractors!

See what past attendees have said about the Australian Rotaract Conference:

“Australia’s biggest Rotaract event and a great opportunity to be inspired, make connections and improve yourself not only within Rotaract but into the future”

“Makes you feel like you’re part of something bigger – a global network of people who genuinely want to make a difference”

“Eye opening, Life changing, Extraordinary!”

The conference will be held at QUT Gardens Point, surrounded by the Brisbane CBD and the Brisbane River.

Registrations for ARC 2016 have now closed.

Bunnings Sausage Sizzle fundraiser for Brain Cancer Research @ Bunnings Morley
Nov 24 @ 7:30 am – 4:00 pm

Did you know that around 1700 people are diagnosed with brain cancer in Australia annually and approximately 1200 die from the disease every year? Brain cancer kills more children in Australia than any other disease and more people under 40 than any other cancer. Despite killing so many people, research into brain cancer cures is one of the LEAST funded and in the past 20 years, survival rates have only increased marginally.

The Rotaract Club of Perth CBD will be sizzling up a storm on Saturday, 24 November, at Bunnings Morley to raise funds for Brain Cancer Research.

Cure Brain Cancer Foundation is dedicated to accelerating the development of new treatments to increase five-year survival from the current 20% to 50% by 2023. Find out more about the disease in the sections below.

We need a few volunteers (4-5 volunteers per shift) to pop on an apron and pop one on the barbie over the following shifts:

Shift 1 (7am to 10.15pm) – FILLED
Shift 2 (10.15am to 1.30pm) – FILLED
Shift 3 (1.15pm to 4.30pm) – 1 or 2 spots remaining

If you can’t help out, then simply join us for lunch! Every sausage sold contributes to a worthy cause 🙂 It will also be a great chance to pop down to Bunnings and sort out any tools and equipment you need to get your house in order for Christmas!
