Back on the Road in the Red Cross Soup Patrol Van!

One of the Initiatives that the Rotaract Club of Perth has been involved with for the last 4 years is the Red Cross Soup Patrol! Our members volunteer their time every month (sometimes multiple times a month) to ensure that some less fortunate people get a good feed. It is one of the projects we are proud to support and the 3 to 4 hours that we spend on the road fly by as we get to talk to some very interesting people and to see the difference that such a program makes.

On Tuesday 10 February, Club Members Martin, Suzie and Sandra went aboard the Soup Patrol van to Fremantle and by the first stop we had an overwhelming amount of people lining up for the soup! Despite regularly volunteering for Soup Patrol, we have never seen such a huge demand and we ran out of cups by the first (of four) stops. Luckily our friend Joe came to the rescue and bought some more cups to help us continue to the other stops (Thanks Joe)!

By the end of the night, all the soup and bread was gone! After an eventful night, we were tired but proud to have helped people!

If you want to get involved in such great projects and initiatives, you can attend one of our club meetings and see how you too can start making a difference!
